Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MSU Alumni Platform (the “Platform”), provided by the Midlands State University International & Alumni Relations Office (“IARO”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and an alumnus/alumna, friend, or stakeholder of MSU to use this Platform.

2. Your Account and Information

  • You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration and to keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials (if applicable).

3. Acceptable Use

  • Do not submit unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content.
  • Do not attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the Platform or its data.
  • Do not misuse contact information obtained via the Platform for spam or unauthorised marketing.

4. Content and Intellectual Property

Content on the Platform is owned by or licensed to MSU. You may use it only for personal, non‑commercial alumni engagement purposes. Unauthorised copying or distribution is prohibited.

5. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data.

6. Events, Donations and Communications

  • Event participation may be subject to additional terms communicated during registration.
  • Donations (if applicable) are processed according to the details provided on the Platform or via authorised channels.
  • You may opt‑in or opt‑out of communications at any time subject to our privacy obligations.

7. Third‑Party Services

The Platform may link to external sites (e.g., social networks). We are not responsible for third‑party content, policies or practices.

8. Service Availability and Changes

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Platform to improve services or comply with law. We will endeavour to minimise disruption.

9. Disclaimer and Liability

The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
