Alumni Spotlight | From MSU Lecture halls to Shaping Zimbabwe’s Construction Industry
As Women’s Month draws to a close, the #universityoffirstchoiceforall, celebrates Joyline R. Zindaga, a trailblazing alumna whose journey of resilience, leadership, and impact inspires women and emerging leaders across the country.

A holder of a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management (2009) and a Master’s in Strategic Marketing (2022), Joyline’s story is one of persistence, reinvention and purposeful leadership. Today, she stands at the helm of the Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) as Chief Executive Officer, an industry often perceived as male-dominated, yet one she continues to reshape with confidence and clarity.

To date, she has launched impactful initiatives, including the ZBCA Construction Academy, a programme that develops talent and creates opportunities for emerging professionals, reflecting MSU’s commitment to producing graduates who drive industrialisation and modernisation through innovation.

Joyline also contributes her expertise to multiple boards and organisations, including the MSU Global Alumni Interim Steering Committee (Vice President), the Standards Association of Zimbabwe, the ZRP Staff College Fundraising Committee, and the Salvation Army Construction Project.

Her impact has earned widespread recognition
CEO of the Year, C-Suite Leadership Excellence Awards (2025)

Outstanding CEO of the Year, Megafest Women’s Business Awards (2025)

Listed among the 50 Most Inspirational Women in Zimbabwe, Women Corporate Directors Network (2024)

Beyond these honours lies a deeper story of resilience and deliberate action.

Walking down memory lane, Joyline recalled moments at MSU that shaped her journey, from sitting at Hunger Square sharing buns and Freezits with classmates during discussions, to lecturers who sparked her passion for marketing, and the leadership and innovation skills she developed through module presentations and defending her dissertation.

Her advice to current students is clear:
“Your degree is just a stepping stone to greatness. Believe in yourself, take calculated risks, and prioritise growth. Once you reach your goals, be deliberate and prove your worth. Do not apologise for it. Your network is the key to unlocking opportunities.”

As you navigate your own journey at the #universityoffirstchoiceforall, pause and ask yourself: What skill, idea, or moment of your time could become hope, inspiration, or opportunity for someone else?
